Connect Telegram to EnkaChat
Create a Telegram bot, connect it to EnkaChat, and answer Telegram customers from the same inbox as your website chat.
Prerequisites
- A Telegram account that can message @BotFather
- A workspace with the channels:manage permission
- The omnichannel plan feature enabled on your workspace

Create a Telegram bot
Open Telegram and start a chat with @BotFather. Send /newbot, choose a display name for your bot, then choose a unique username that ends in bot. BotFather replies with an HTTP API token that looks like 123456789:AAH... — copy it now.

The token is a credential. Keep it secret, and paste it into EnkaChat with no spaces.

Connect it in EnkaChat
In the admin panel, open Integrations and find the Telegram card. Click Connect and fill in the Label, the Bot token, and an optional Webhook secret. In local development the admin panel runs at http://app.enkachat.localhost.

The webhook is registered automatically
EnkaChat calls Telegram's setWebhook for you with allowed_updates: ["message"]. Unlike WhatsApp and VK, you do not configure a callback URL in a provider console. On creation a one-time connection_token is shown, and you can re-copy the webhook URL from the connection row at any time.

The connection token is stored only as a SHA-256 hash plus an encrypted copy.

Verify the connection
The status badge moves from pending to active once Telegram confirms the webhook. The Health check button runs Telegram's getMe to confirm the bot token. Disable pauses inbound processing, and delete calls Telegram's deleteWebhook and removes the connection.

Inbound Telegram messages create a visitor and a channel session. Agents answer in the Chats inbox, and bot replies are dispatched back through the Telegram connector with sendMessage, plus media.
FAQ
My bot token is rejected
getMe returns 401 when the token is wrong or has a stray space. Paste it again exactly as @BotFather sent it, or issue a fresh token with /mybots.
What does the webhook secret do?
Telegram echoes it in the X-Telegram-Bot-Api-Secret-Token header, and EnkaChat checks it to confirm the payload came from Telegram. The secret is optional.
Does disabling the connection delete my bot?
No. Disabling pauses inbound processing. Deleting the connection removes the webhook and stops messages for good.
Do attachments work on Telegram?
Yes, in both directions. Inbound photos, documents, and voice download up to the server cap, and outbound text and media send normally.
